Our [working] Itinerary

Dec. 26-27, 2025
Targeted Guest Arrival

Choose your heart's desire! Christmas time in El Salvador is truly magical, and the city is vibrant. We will be in-country one week ahead of the wedding.

Dec. 28, 2025
Traditional Festival: Día de los Inocentes & Torito Pinto

We will be attending a patron saint festival called Día de Los Inocentes.

There is a night market and a custom called Torito Pinto where people in a bull-shaped frame packed with fireworks fire them directly into the crowd. It’s dangerous and fun.

There are numerous vendors in this area offering local foods and a seasonal drink called “ponche,” which is at its tastiest with the added shot (or two) of rum.

Location: Parque Central de Antiguo Cuscatlan

Time: 6 pm

Meet-up point: Under the lit tree in the center of the plaza!

Welcome Dinner

Please join us at the historic Club La Dalia in El Centro Historico (city center) of San Salvador. Here you will find El Palacio Nacional, Biblioteca Nacional, and Teatro Nacional.

There are plenty of sites to see, so come early or stick around to explore. At this time of year, there will also be live bands busking, street vendors, and choirs performing from the Catedral Metropolitana, where Salvadoran Saint, revered community figure and symbol of anti-authoritarianism, Monseñor Oscar Romero, is buried.

Light fare and refreshments will be provided.

Location: Club La Dalia // clubladalia.com

Time: 4 pm to 7 pm

Wedding Day

The ceremony starts at 4 pm but please plan on arriving at 3 pm.

Shuttles will be available to transport you to the venue in Cajamarca. The ride is approximately 45 minutes.

There will be two shuttles: the first shuttle will depart at 2:00 p.m., and the last one will leave at 2:45 p.m. If you’re late, you’ll have to find your way up the volcano.

We encourage folks to take the early shuttle and enjoy the grounds at Cajamarca. It is a working coffee farm located in the Boqueron National Forest, on the slopes of Volcan de San Salvador.

Attire: Please honor the bride and groom by wearing your boldest and most colorful attire.

Dec. 31, 2025 through Jan. 2, 2026
Informal New Year’s Eve Beach Day

The immediate family will be headed to the Atami Beach Resort in Tamanique, La Libertad, the day after the wedding. Traditionally, Salvadorans pack the beaches.

If this is of interest to you, book on the Atami site as soon as possible. This is a very popular tradition, and this resort WILL SELL OUT. You can also purchase day passes.

LINK TO ATAMI BOOKING SITE!

There are also several large Airbnb rentals in the area that we have identified, which could be used for self-organization. This is the less expensive option! Groceries and drinking water will need to be purchased before arrival at the beach, as supermarkets are a little out of the way.

For your personal Airbnb search, you can use “Tamanique” or “Playa Palmarcito” as the location, and the dates are 12/31 to 1/1 or any other desired departure date.

We will be on Playa Palmarcito (click for map link here) at the beach restaurant and adjacent beach resort all day and into the evening! There will be access to public restrooms and several restaurants.
